Good basic clock

Good basic bedside clock. Not sure what the “sensor” feature is for - it just seemed to leave the back light on the clock face which was annoying - so turned it off. Background to numbers is a little dark but ok.

Attractive and easy to read

Really nice, slightly retro-looking clock. Excellent quality. Looks good and the display is easy to read from a distance. I find the light sensing backlit option slightly too bright – it illuminates the small area by my bed just a bit too much to be able to fall asleep comfortably. This wouldn’t worry everyone – it’s just that I’m in a very small room. As I’m 50 I needed a magnifier to read instructions, but they were very clear. Easy to operate.
What I’m really looking for is a small bedside digital clock where the time remains illuminated all night, but doesn’t cast too bright a light. In retrospect I should have consulted the Oh Clocks advice service.
Overall I’d give this a 9/10.

LOVE IT!

This clock is exactly what I should have bought years ago. When I wake up in the middle of the night I simply glance at it and immediately know what time it is.

Checkmate Chapman Alarm Clock Review

The Checkmate Chapman alarm clock was initially purchased for my young daughter for her first clock (She chose the pink one no surprise).

Firstly, I would like to mention that in my opinion the clock is a little bit overpriced for what it is. However both me and my daughter are happy with the purchase due to both the versatility and the added bonus of a displayed temperature gauge, which is quite accurate when tested against other devices I own.

Secondly, just to elaborate on the versatility bit, the fact that it isn't hard wired it quite a benefit. As my daughter pointed out in quick fashion that we could take it with us when we go camping. Such a simple idea actually demonstrated how handy this clock can be. The fact we can have a clock while we camp as well as the ability to keep track of temperature at the same time almost convinced myself to get one just for me.

So all in all I would recommend this clock to anyone who can see the advantages it can offer while either at home or away on holiday. The only reason it's not 5 stars is due to the price.

The settings went haywire when you press the top button Light/Snooze, then we have to reset again.

Perfect clock for a good night’s sleep

Anything to help them sleep, right? This great little clock is compact with easy controls. No ticking, no light unless you press the button on the top, so sleep time is quiet and dark. Perfect for a good night’s sleep.
